Work it out
Where you are starting
Runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to us and nothing is saved — a height and a weight are your business.
BMI is one measure among several and it says nothing about how you are built. Surgeons weigh it alongside your health and your goals; it does not decide anything on its own.
Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Procedures
No referral. You book the consultation yourself, Votiva Vaginal Rejuvenation included, which is seen privately and discreetly. That first visit is a conversation about what you want and what fits. Nothing gets done that day unless you want it and it makes sense to start.
No season is wrong, but skin work and sun do interact. Microdermabrasion and PRP leave skin briefly more sun-sensitive, so some people prefer to begin a course in the cooler months and stay on sunscreen all year. Your provider builds that timing into the plan.
Not much to it. Keep the small spot clean and dry, leave it alone rather than pick at it, and follow whatever your provider tells you. Skin tag removal rarely needs stitches, and most people heal fast with nothing more than a few days of keeping the area protected.
Most are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and we ask at the consultation. Waiting is the safer call, and a responsible clinic says so instead of going ahead. Once that stretch is behind you, we can look again at which treatment fits your goal.
Depends which you mean. The Instant BBL is filler — Radiesse placed in an office visit, a modest change that fades inside a year. The Brazilian Butt Lift is the operation: your own fat moved under anesthesia, and it lasts. If you want a real change in shape, the surgical route is the honest one. Filler will not get you there.
Cosmetic Procedures at Goals Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery: What You Need to Know
Most of what people believe about non-surgical treatment arrives second-hand, from a friend's account, a comment section, an advert that overpromised. Our Harlem clinic spends a good part of every consultation undoing that, so this page does the undoing in advance. Below are the assumptions patients most often bring in about these five cosmetic procedures, and what is actually true. Some of the myths make treatments sound better than they are. A few make them sound worse, and those cost people something too. If you searched med spa Harlem and are trying to work out what to believe, start here.
The fear that stops more first appointments than any other is looking done. It comes from seeing the visible cases and never noticing the invisible ones, which is a sampling problem rather than an accurate impression of what these treatments do.
Microdermabrasion and PRP Facial Rejuvenation work gradually on skin quality; nobody can point at the result because there is nothing to point at. Even Instant BBL with Radiesse, the most obviously physical thing on this menu, adds a modest amount of shape rather than a transformation.
Where the fear does apply is at the far end of injectables - larger volumes, placed repeatedly, chasing something bigger than the method allows. That is a real phenomenon and it is worth being wary of. It is also not what a modest filler placement in a single appointment produces, and conflating the two keeps people from treatments that would suit them.
The idea that these treatments trap you is widespread and mostly wrong. Nothing on this menu creates a dependency, and stopping does not leave you worse off than you began.
Filler fades and the area returns to its starting point. PRP built collagen that stays built; discontinuing simply means no further gains. Microdermabrasion maintains a level of skin quality that gradually drifts back if you stop, which is not a penalty, just the absence of upkeep.
What is true is that keeping a result requires continuing, and people sometimes hear that as the same thing. It is not. A garden untended reverts; it does not become worse than the field it started as. Anyone telling you a treatment must be continued to avoid harm is selling, not informing.
This one undersells rather than oversells, and it costs patients a treatment that might genuinely help. PRP is grouped in people's minds with spa facials because both involve someone working on your face in a quiet room.
The mechanism is not comparable. A facial works on the surface - cleansing, hydrating, exfoliating. PRP draws your own blood, concentrates the platelets, and reintroduces them below the surface to prompt collagen production over subsequent weeks. One is a pleasant hour; the other is a biological process with a delay attached.
Which is also why the two produce different experiences. A facial delivers immediate glow and modest duration. PRP delivers very little on the day and increasing benefit over a month or more. Judged against each other on the afternoon of the appointment, PRP loses badly and unfairly.
Plenty of people live for years with tags catching on collars and jewellery because they picture a procedure far larger than the reality. In practice Skin Tags Removal is measured in minutes, done under a local, and finished before most patients have settled into the chair.
Marking is uncommon and usually minimal, and the aftercare amounts to keeping the spot clean and leaving it alone. Most patients return to their day directly from the appointment with nothing more than a small dressing.
The genuine caution runs the other way. Removal here is cosmetic rather than diagnostic, so an unusual-looking spot should be properly assessed before anything is taken off. That is the reason to see a provider rather than reach for a pharmacy kit - not the scarring people imagine.
Votiva Vaginal Rejuvenation carries assumptions about who books it that do not match who actually does. The concerns it addresses - comfort, tissue tone, are not tied to a decade of life, and patients across a wide range book it for reasons that have nothing to do with age.
It is an in-office radiofrequency treatment run over a short course, in a private room, with no referral required. Nobody has to justify why they are asking.
What it does not do is treat a medical diagnosis, and that boundary matters more than any assumption about who it is for. A concern that turns out to be medical belongs with a doctor, not on a treatment plan built around it.
This is the most consequential misunderstanding on the page, and the naming is largely responsible. Two treatments share three letters and almost nothing else.
Instant BBL with Radiesse places injectable filler during an office appointment. The change is modest and the body clears the product over roughly a year. The Brazilian Butt Lift is surgery - your own fat, relocated under anesthesia, with a genuine recovery and a result that stays.
They are not two price points on one procedure. They answer different goals. Someone wanting a subtle, reversible change is well served by the filler; someone wanting a real shift in proportion is not, and no sequence of filler appointments arrives there. Say that is your goal and the conversation moves to the surgical side of the practice, which happens to be down the corridor.
The last myth is about the appointment rather than the treatments. People delay booking because they expect to be sold to, and expect that saying no will be awkward.
You decide what, if anything, gets scheduled. Figures are given openly rather than held back for a closing pitch, so you can weigh them at home. The Before & After gallery is worth browsing if pictures settle things faster than conversation does for you.
If a single idea survives this page, let it be that most of what people fear about these treatments overstates them and most of what they hope overstates them too. The reality sits in between: five well-understood procedures, modest in what they change, predictable in how long they hold, useful when matched to the right concern.
Arriving with your assumptions out loud is genuinely useful. Say what you have heard, what you are worried about, what you are hoping for, and a provider can tell you which parts are accurate. That conversation takes twenty minutes and settles most of the decision, whichever way it goes.
It also helps to say where the belief came from. A friend's experience is worth taking seriously but rarely transfers cleanly, because her skin, her goal and her provider were all different from yours. Something read online may be accurate, out of date, or written about a treatment that shares a name with ours and little else. Naming the source lets a provider address the specific thing rather than talk generally.
Patients who come in sceptical tend to end up better served than patients who come in convinced. Scepticism asks questions, and questions are what produce a plan that fits. The version of this that goes wrong is someone booking a treatment they have not examined because an advert made it sound inevitable, and that is precisely the outcome this page has been trying to prevent.
A first consultation is a conversation: what is bothering you, whether anything here addresses it, and what the honest plan would be. Frequently the answer involves fewer treatments than the patient anticipated, and occasionally it involves none.
